Practical Nursing Program (PN)

The programs prepare the student to provide nursing care to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, home healthcare agencies, and other areas.

Associate Of Science In Nursing Degree Program (ASN)

Palm Beach International College offers the Associate of Science in Nursing degree program which prepares students for a career as a professional nurse.

Practical Nursing

In the PN program, students will learn and demonstrate an understanding of personal and professional ethics, effective communication with members of the health care team, patients, and their families.

Occupational Outlook

Employment of licensed practical nurses is projected to grow 12 percent from 2016 to 2026; faster than the average for all occupations. As the baby-boomer population ages, the overall need for healthcare services is expected to increase in residential care facilities and in-home health care environments.

Practical Nursing Program Objectives

The programs prepare the student to provide nursing care to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, home healthcare agencies, and other areas. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the graduate is eligible to apply and sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing to earn their license. Licensure in the State of Florida is required prior to obtaining employment in Florida. The Florida Board of Nursing requires a criminal background check for all applicants seeking licensure. Individuals with prior criminal circumstances on their background check may not be eligible for licensure or employment.

Palm Beach International College (PBIC) is dedicated to the success of every student. At PBIC, we are committed to providing outstanding opportunities for a distinct and diverse student population, to guide them toward excelling intellectually and personally throughout their academic experience.
Meeting the needs of each student is our priority. Our caring and expert faculty is dedicated to inspiring students to reach their full potential. Students are provided with instructional guidance and the resources necessary to ensure success in their respective programs.

Transfer Of Credit

The college will consider earned credits for transfer from accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or State Council of Higher Education. The decision to accept, or deny transfer credit is final. The PBIC Office of Admissions evaluates transfer credits earned from other institutions for similarity prior to the admission of a student. The Science prerequisite coursework must be completed within the last seven years at the time of application. Transferability of credits is at the discretion of the receiving institution. It is the student’s responsibility to confirm whether credits will be accepted at another institution of the student’s choice. If a student has credits for courses in other nursing programs which are not relevant to the course work at PBIC, the credit is non- transferrable, and the course will be considered vocational. Official Transcripts with transfer credits must be submitted to the Office of Admissions at the time of application.

Foreign Transcripts

In the case of foreign transcripts, the student may be required to have their records translated and evaluated by a reputable and accredited third party translator and evaluator. Students may visit the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES®) for a list of members and their websites. The results of the evaluation should be sent directly to Palm Beach International College. Though PBIC consents to examine the evaluated transcript for potential transfer of credits, the college has the authority to accept or refuse credits based on the results of the evaluation. All official transcripts should be sent to registrar@palmbeachintcollege.com
