Campus Visit

The college will consider each applicant individually in relationship to the entire applicant pool, then select the best candidates for admission. The College reserves the right to limit the number of students admitted based on faculty and clinical resources. The College’s programs are taught in English. Admission Requirements

Student Requirements:
FYI: Student will not be able to start the program unless we have ALL documents on file. 2 ID’s (State ID or Passport and Social Security Card), High School Diploma or GED, Doctor’s Physical Examination (Must have drug screening done as a part of the physical), Level 2 background check or FBI background check, official transcripts (if you have any), and CPR card (American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider). For Transfer of Credit, we accept credits that are not older than 7 years and LPN license (If going for the RN program). We, however, do not accept nursing credits from other post-secondary institutions. Students are required to take an entrance exam and pass with a score of not less than 75%. A study guide is provided after registration.
Students must pay $150 non-refundable registration fee and a down payment of at least $3000 to be placed into class. Monthly payments of $1000-$2000 are due between the 15th-20th of each month, any payments made after that will have a late fee of $55 applied.

Practical Nursing Program Specific Requirements

1. Applicants must meet the following requirements before being accepted:
✓ Be at least 18 years old.
✓ Pay a non-refundable application fee of $150.00.
✓ Provide a copy of Driver’s License, Passport, or State Issued ID Card and a Social Security Card.
✓ Have a high school diploma or GED, and official transcript.
✓ Pass the Entrance Exam with a score of 70% or higher
✓ Have a personal interview with the Nursing Program Director or Designee.
✓ Submit a signed enrollment agreement.

2. Applicants must have the following documents before first day of class:
✓ Level II Background Check
✓ 12 Panel Drug Screening Test Results

3. Applicants must have the following documents before clinical rotation:
✓ Medical report attesting to good health.
✓ Provide proof of negative PPD within the past 6 months or chest X-ray within 1 year.
✓ Proof of immunizations: Polio, Tetanus, Hepatitis B series, Varicella and Influenza titers during flu season.

Associate Of Science Degree In Nursing Program Specific Requirements

1. Applicants must meet the following requirements before being accepted into the program:
✓ Be at least 18 years old.
✓ Pay a non-refundable application fee of $150.00.
✓ Provide a copy of Driver’s License or State Issued ID Card and a Social Security Card.
✓ Have a high school diploma or GED, and official transcript.
✓ Pass the HESI A2 Registered Nursing Pre-Admission Exam with a minimum score of 80%.
• The HESI A2 exam may be taken 3 times during a calendar year with at least 12 hours between attempts.
• The HESI Entrance Exam may be waived for students who hold an LPN, EMT, Paramedic credentials, or a bachelor’s degree in another field earned at an accredited institution.
• A copy of the LPN, EMT, or Paramedic license is required.
✓ Have a personal interview with the Nursing Program Director or Designee.
✓ Submit official transcripts documenting previous coursework and earned degrees
• all coursework must indicate a final grade; Updated transcripts are required if coursework is in progress regardless of whether the course is a prerequisite.
✓ A completed and signed enrollment agreement.

2. Applicants, must have the following documents before the first day of class:

3. Applicants, for the Associate of Science l Nursing Program, must have the following documents before clinical rotation:

✓ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Card

4. CPR Card from the American Heart Association

Uniforms

PBIC Nursing students are expected to convey a professional image while on campus and clinical sites or while representing the College in a variety of settings. This includes immaculate, all-white, wrinkle-free clothing and clean shoes. Students not in adherence will be unable to participate in learning experiences. A PBIC Identification Badge MUST be displayed in ALL professional settings, on or off campus. Shoes must be closed heel and toe, nonporous, and primarily white. If you are unsure, please contact the Director of Nursing. Students who do not adhere to this requirement will not be permitted to attend classes or participate in learning activities.Badges can be obtained at the Office of Student Services from 12-4 pm, daily.

Equipment Requirements

• Students will be required to purchase an “Equipment Kit” containing clinical supplies required for the Nursing program.
• Students are required to wear a watch with a second hand.
• Cell phones are not permitted to be used as your watch.

COVID-19 Protocols

Our clinical partners require proof of immunity to many transmissible diseases. For example, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TB, influenza, and others are currently required for clinical experiences with our agency partners. Our clinical partners are now additionally requiring Covid vaccinations for students, clinical instructors, site visitors, and any others who will be entering a clinical site. Palm Beach International College requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID test for in the immediate 72 hours prior to a student entering its campus.
